Wings of Redemption

Interlude - Back To Town

IC ((OOC))

((Alright, it looks like there is a consensus, so we are heading back via OP. I am not sure if this is going to be a part of Chapter 2, or Chapter 3, or a separate stand-alone interlude part between 2 and 3. Depends on what happens. To save me time later, I’ll rehash a little.))

((Day 5: Morning: Following Dice. Fight with Asëa’s Dad.))

((Day 5: Midday: Traveling at half-rate towards town. Asëa’s survival roll to find food and water: 18+4=22, so sufficient food and water for the day.))

((Ethan, if you want to throw more at us, there are still hours left. Otherwise, we can fast-forward to tonight, when there is something I’d like to take care of, and then on into tomorrow morning, again I have a couple things I’d like to cover, and then we can move in to day 6 proper and I’ll post the level 3 character pages for real. If anyone else has anything they want to do in this time period, chime in! I think we should assume that, if nothing else happens, Boots will cast CLW on himself before sleeping tonight.))

Comments

((nah, nothing today. Note that since I can’t /whisper, I’ll be using private messages and/or emails instead))

Interlude - Back To Town

((sounds good. Either works for me))

((Ok, so, tonight at camp, Boots should CLW himself. Roll: 6+2=8, so fully healed))

((Asëa trances ergo levels, then everyone else sleeps. Over night, Asëa continues inspecting the mug and gauntlets. Consider this next bit a rough excerpt from wherever this ends up in the story, since I know what the one of them says, but no one else does, so I’ll be joining Ethan in the Cryptic Hints department! This isn’t strictly IC, but it will be in the story (edited a bit perhaps), so not putting it in double parens. Hopefully this isn’t too obvious!))

Asëa turned the gauntlets over in her hand, inspecting the word stitched inside. It was written in the elvish alphabet, but she had never seen the word. «kvoek.» It made no sense to her. Whatever it said, it was not written in elvish, nor sylvan, of that she was certain. Setting the gauntlets aside, she picked up the strange mug and turned it upside down. The word etched on the bottom was just as mysterious as the one stitched in the gauntlets. “tcq  la” She licked her finger and rubbed the moisture over the letters gently, seeing if she could recover more of the writing. It almost looked as if the word had been struck out, a horizontal line seemed cut the ‘c’ in half. But why go to the trouble of carving a word on the bottom of a mug and then crossing it out? She sighed, and put the mug back where she had gotten it. Perhaps one of the others would know what it said….

((In the morning, after prepping her spells, Asëa begins training Eruanna to Seek (day 1 of 7, starting off with a Handle Animal mod of +10 for Eruanna). She’ll spend an hour or 2 in the morning, and the rest of the time that evening (training is 3 hours per day, but it doesn’t say consecutive hours, and it makes more sense to do two sessions a day). I’ll post updated character pages and fix up the Ephemeral Character Data page momentarily.))

((Also that morning, Asëa would like to use her recently prepped Speak with Animals to make sure Aether is happy. She has a whopping 3 minutes, probably 1 or 2 of that will be talking with Eruanna explaining what she wants to train her to do, but she wants to at least ask Aether if she is happy and if she likes/trusts/etc Flinn. I dunno how you want to deal with that, Ethan and Lowell. I am sorry, but she has to ask. Assuming that Aether is not unhappy, she’ll not do anything to screw with Flinn but would tell Aether that if Flinn ever treats her badly, she can come to her and she will help. (Sorry for pronoun death) But if she is unhappy….. well, we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. If she is indifferent, I’d recommend exploiting her low intelligence to make it sound like she is happy. ))

((Besides that, today’s survival roll to find food while traveling half rate is a rather unimpressive 8+6=14, which is enough for her and 2 others. I’d recommend someone ELSE take a DC10 survival check to find food, ideally you want to roll about a 14 to cover the last person and Aether. Any other rolls needed to avoid being attacked today, Ethan? Also, at what point (if any) does Puck leave us? Asëa would invite him to come along for as long as he wants, of course, I’d just like to know when in this journey he leaves for the story.))

((And does anyone else have anything they want to do while traveling?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Oh, and just in case someone asks, yes, her survival mod changed over night. Day 5, she was still level 2 so had a +4. Day 5, she added enough ranks to Knowledge (Nature) to pick up a Synergy bonus with Survival in above ground natural environments. So, that was not an error that she had a +4 in the Day 5 roll and plus 6 in Day 6. And yes, this note is as much for me when I get to writing this as it is to everyone else!))

Interlude - Back To Town

Alright, let’s use a d12 to decide Aether’s happiness. Why d12? Because the Berserker die deserves some love. 1 to 4 = Unhappy, 5 to 8 = Okay, 9 to 12 = Feelin Great.

Damnit, rolled a 4.

Alright, Survival check: 5. Yeesh, I’m not doing well today, huh?

Well, other than the neverending problem of carrying all weapons at all times, Flinn doesn’t have much to do. Maybe work with Mithii on spear techniques, fail to find suitable food for Aether (wow, explain that), spend some time brooding over everything that’s happened, etc. The armor’s enchanted clasp isn’t really on his mind right now.

Let’s see. Flinn would probably feel indebted to Asea and her village for reviving Dice. Plus, it is kind of his fault her dad tried to swing a sword at her. And chasing after Dice sounds like the very next thing to do on his list. And some time down the road, Flinn’s gonna get insanely drunk with Boots in some bar.

Interlude - Back To Town

((You’re lucky Ethan already PMd me with Aether’s thoughts (roughly came off as “Well, carrying a lot of crap and I got wounded, but then my wounds went away and I feel safe, so….”). I interpreted it as on the bright side of neutral. I vote that we go with what Ethan said! I mean, you’re a Good character, so being less-than-nice to a horse doesn’t really fit, after all.))

((Ok, Miithi, your turn for the survival check!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Also, Ethan, a question. Survival says that you get food and water for yourself, plus 1 other per 2 over 10 you roll. Would it be possible for Asëa to give the food she finds “for herself” to someone else? Because she would NOT eat until everyone else has had enough! That would make the skill “you find food for 1 person plus an additional person for each 2 over 10 that you roll”?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((yeah, that would be an acceptable use of Survival))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Ok, I decided to just throw Boots’ survival roll (which means that yes, he is in the leather armor). Roll of 4+1=5. Woot. So, all down to Miithi, the only character with a wis penalty. No pressure! ))

Interlude - Back To Town

((I should remind you that you’ve still got 2 trail rations (yay, go Puck!), and Aether doesn’t actually REQUIRE a Survival roll. Puck won’t be permanently leaving for a while, though he might not be detectable at all times. Also, I wonder if I should make monster avoidance rolls secretly… Yeah, I’ll probably do that, so just tell me the soonest that anyone wants to do anything, and I’ll let you know if you find anything before reaching Tinsville.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((I know aether doesn’t technically need extra food, and I know there’s spare food, but a total of 2 days worth for one person… Well, lets put it this way: if someone else eats one, then she found enough food for herself, and everyone is fine. If someone else doesn’t, then she wouldn’t dip into the scarce food reserves that early, but she can go a day without food…. of course, since Boots has them, he probably would be the one to eat them…. but it’d be nice to save them, so I stand by my earlier: Go go Miithi go! If miithi fails to get at least an unmodified 11 on the dice roll, then someone will eat trail rations today I guess.))

((aside from noting that Asëa spends 3 hours per day training Eruanna (she’d be able to take the test the day we reach town if my mental math is right), there is nothing else special that I want to do before getting back, except of course survival rolls for food every day, and talking to Puck if he is around and wanting to talk (do fish swim?). She’d probably pull a critter out of the Bag of Tricks some night just to play with, which begs the question of how the “10 per week” works (I.e. what day do weeks start on and why does the bag know that? or does each critter have a 7-day recharge rate?), but assuming that your probably going to randomize how many times Puck has used it this week, add one to that roll for Asëa playing with a random (literally!) animal. ))

Interlude - Back To Town

((sigh here we go; rolls 1d20 – 1 -> rolled a 13 – 1 = 12))

Interlude - Back To Town

((During our travel down-time I guess Miithi would be busy learning his new spells from leveling eh?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Oh, and yes, I know Asëa doesn’t know that the bag of tricks has 10 uses per week, she’ll discover that by trial and error and probably not for like a year, because she’d at most play with one per night and as much fun as it is I doubt she’d ever actually NEED to use it (though I am ready to be proven wrong!), so that is another one of those “be ready for it, because it just might come up!” things!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Woot! FOOD! In that case, shall we fast-forward to Day 7?))

((Asëa Survival roll for food and water day 7 (traveling half rate – being explicit to save me headaches when I write this part up!): 16+6=22 = sufficient.))

((Same spells prepped day 7 as day 6. Will update Ephemeral Character Data and Boots’ and the treasure page to scratch one trail rations off the list. And just to be explicit, training Eruanna continues.))

((I just want to wait for Ethan’s all-clear every day before moving on because knowing the future is dangerous))

Interlude - Back To Town

((wait a minute, I’m being an idiot! NOT scratching trail rations off the list, I dunno why I said that! I AM going to add a “food” section to ephemeral character data, though. Note to self: think next time!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((you have a good point about the Bag of Tricks. Well, Puck probably doesn’t use it very often, so… rolls die ah, here we go. Hmm, let’s say that there are a few decorations on the bag, such as embroidery and some plain beads. As Asea pulls the next animal out, a rat (the second one of those, right?), you’ll notice that one of the beads turns a dull gray color. Further examination would reveal that only one other bead has a similar coloration.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((You accounted for the fact that Puck pulled one out in front of us, right? I.e. he hadn’t used it in a week before we showed up? (again, info we know != info the characters know) ))

Interlude - Back To Town

((yeah, as I said, he doesn’t use it very often. I’d say there’s a reasonable chance that he wouldn’t have used it at all in the previous week, which is what I rolled.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Ok. Also, I know I already asked if the bag o’ tricks had a weight and you said that none was listed, but since it looks like a normal sack, shouldn’t it weight the same as a sack (I.e. ½ lbs) or am I being too picky about weights? ))

Interlude - Back To Town

((that’s probably you being more picky about weights than the DMG is))

Interlude - Back To Town

((lol, fine. I’m just not expecting to have armor until like level 11 if I even bother with it then, so its good to be up on encumbrance by weight. And I doubt miithi is gonna wear armor like ever AND he cares about his light load limit!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((hey, I’ve been there. first a Rogue, then a Wizard, then a halfling (!) who splurged on mithral armor ‘cause it was lighter))

Interlude - Back To Town

((I guess I’m just uncomfortable with things that can be accelerated to the speed of light with a negligible force, and that if left unattended would float off into space as the planet rotates away from them :) Sorry, physics major…. It does that to things. But I mean, surely if I said that Asëa was going to spend every gold piece the party ever finds on sewing needles, you’d EVENTUALLY pick a weight for them, if only to prevent burying someone in them and thereby getting to do death by a thousand pinpricks!))

((also, since this side-conversation has probably made others trying to see what has happened annoyed, we fast-forwarded to day 7, does anyone want to do anything?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((nope unless you’re suggesting I go around “testing” out my new charm person on the party… :P))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Then unless Flinn has anything to do today, I’ll just wait for Ethan to give the go-ahead and we can move on to day 8. Also, I will not be on the internet most of saturday and will only have my iPhone internet most Friday))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Also, another survival question, Ethan. Can you ‘save’ extra food, or must you roll every day regardless? For example, it would make sense that a lone character with awesome survival skills could spend a day traveling slow and gathering food, and then move at full speed for a few days while eating what they had found that first day, and that could be well approximated by saving extra found food (and charging weight for it, of course, probably same as trail rations, and it would spoil after a few days of course). Similarly, a one good gatherer in a party would be able to find enough food some days to cover for scarcity in subsequent days….. I just ask because she rolled a 22 again, which is enough for 7 medium creatures. 4 party members plus 2x for Aether (doesn’t NEED it, but it’s NICE!) leaves 1 portion left over…))

Interlude - Back To Town

((sure, go ahead with day 8.))

((yes, btw, I will allow you to store extra food. I’d say it’s probably 1.5x or 2x as heavy as trail rations, and typically spoils after ~3 days.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Fair enough, for now Asëa will schlep the extra food. Aether complained about weight, so….))

((Survival roll day 8: 15+6=21, so 6 people worth (break-even point counting Aether as 2). So, we are still one meal up, though the smart thing to do would be to eat day 7’s extra today and save today’s! Will add a note about saving food to the survival page in a sec, and will add this to the Food section of ephemeral character data))

((Continuing my verbosity so that I don’t have to think when I work through this for writing, this is the fourth day traveling at half-rate, the third day of training Eruanna, and we are a day away from town (should reach it near the end of our day’s travel tomorrow, and will take Eruanna’s Handle Animal Check in the morning). Same spells prepped as before, for simplicity.))

((Since it seems neither Miithi nor Flinn have anything to do (and nor does Asëa), I’m just waiting again for the go-ahead from Ethan to advance to day 9))

Interlude - Back To Town

((you hear a clatter of dice from behind the DM screen… Hmm, in that case… Yeah, sure, go ahead for day 9))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Oh, I noted that water probably doesn’t spoil so quickly and that its weight is separate, just because that makes the most sense to me. If this was presuming too much, feel free to correct that. I was being purposefully vague because different foods spoil at different rates so this is another one of those “characters really shouldn’t be able to depend on it” things))

Interlude - Back To Town

((LOLOLOLOL! THAT has got to be the BEST line ever.))

((Day 9 then, but if Flinn or Miithi want to do something random beforehand, they can jump in at any point))

((Handle Animal Check for Eruanna: 9+10=19, DC to train Seek is 15, so passing (+10 modifiers are really, really nice!). SO, 3 more days of training for a new trick.))

((Day 9 survival roll: 1+6=7=starve (and more fail-elf). Boots Survival roll: 17+1=18, so enough for 5 people, and if we toss in “yesterday’s” extra, we’re all good including Aether. When I write this, I am going to assume that Flinn and/or Miithi also checked, I just wanted to save some time and didn’t expect him to actually do well! Sorry, Boots, but I didn’t!))

((So, anyway, that is up to “dawn day 9” so to speak, we’ve got all day to get to town and one last chance for an ambush if you want to roll for it))

Interlude - Back To Town

((OH, and Ethan, I have a question. Can I add that Asëa picked up her comb when she visited her house? Basically its just a touch I want to add. And, you know, knee-length hair would tangle! No rules for it, and no effect whatsoever other than personal grooming, which she cannot totally ignore until A Thousand Faces!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((I’m good until we hit town, prestidigitation is my grooming lol. Knee-length? jeez thats long. Btw ethan, want me to bring RotW tomorrow for you to borrow?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Somewhere between waist and knee. The 3D model was not accurate in that regard, I hardly tweaked her hair at all because it looked ugly stretched…. Nynaeve hair, only not braided, so longer.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((yeah, water is separate from food, and there WILL be some variance in the weight and shelf life of the gathered food))

(yeah, you can have your comb))

((no ambush this time, so you get to town without too much difficulty))

((oh, and bringing RotW could be handy, but it probably isn’t necessary. It would, however, leave me confused regarding which of the books in my zoo backpack is the geekiest!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((oh, and I’d like to point out that clearly, the 1 random encounter/trip rule from OOTS doesn’t apply to this campaign))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Did you two guys get the email I sent you, btw?))

((anywho, town is fun. I’m fairly certain that Asëa isn’t the best person to go procure rooms at the inn (“Money? What is money? What do you mean no eagles? What do you mean you only serve meat? What is a bed?”), so someone else should probably deal with talking to the innkeeper. Asëa certainly wants to check in on Darryl and Elizabeth to make sure they are holding up, and Esmeralda, too, since she promised she would. Though unless someone else tags along with her those will probably be easier via email, Ethan? Someone with more sense of money than her should handle the more conventional town stuff. Oh, Asëa would want Flinn to try and lighten the load Aether has to carry.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((nope, haven’t gotten an email yet. Handling effectively private discussions with NPCs via email is fine, assuming nobody else none of the PCs joins Asea. It’ll probably have to wait until tomorrow night, though.))

((also, yes, non-dylan people: make sure you give SOME indication that you’ve shopped, made sleeping arrangements, etc., etc.! otherwise I might decide to be overly literal with you))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Oh, I probably won’t be available tomorrow night more than sporadically. Saturday night, perhaps?))

((At some point while in town, Asëa would like to buy a couple trail rations if she can find any that meet her standards. If not, she might have to just buy raw ingredients and assemble them herself.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((perhaps. I don’t have work the day after, so it should work out okay. btw, do you mean that Asea wants to obtain trail rations, and will buy them once she figures out how money works?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((She was with Elizabeth when we all bought the stuff, I think she has a vague concept of ‘gold circles for stuff I want’. Whether or not she gets relative value or not (‘is a handful or two enough for this?’) is another matter, I was mostly joking with the inn thing. That said, maybe she’ll see if Elizabeth can spare a day to show her around town or something.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((dylan if you mean the uhh books you found online then I got that email. Ethan I’ll bring RotW anyway just so you can glance at it at the least. Miithi can handle the purchase of things, does using charm person to get ‘discounts’ on items count as evil? lol))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Yar, that be the one. Also, just to point out that charm person wouldn’t necessarily work on everyone anyway. Someone like Bayle Domon, who says he’d charge his mother to ride on his ship and seems like he actually means it, would just be like “Ok, great, you’re my bestest friend in the whole wide world. That’ll still be 10 GP.”))

((Also, I’m contemplating having Asëa complain about that one guard to someone (such as a superior officer). What’s the party consensus on that course of action? Is it too risky? Just crazy enough to work? A good excuse to try out new spells?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((for the sake of the others, I’ll reiterate what I said today at work. No, misusing Charm Person is not inherently Evil. It’s almost certainly Chaotic, and it’s probably not Good. But, without other circumstances, it would be greedy more than Evil.))

Interlude - Back To Town

Of course, when the spell ends and they realize they sold you stuff ultra-cheap, they probably would be none too happy, and I suspect that the town guards don’t much care if you stole out if greed or just to be chaotic versus because you are evil! Although I suppose you could just dismiss the spell, let the person call the guards, and then charm the guards into being too busy. When the spell ends on the guards, they wouldn’t remember doing anything unusual (extrapolating from what we have seen!) so you’d be in the clear :) (unless if course the charm spells are supposed to alter memory in such a way that the person doesn’t notice any incongruent behavior they may have done once the spell ends…)

Interlude - Back To Town

((btw, you guys know that it helps if you initiate interactions in town, right? even if it’s something as simple as “I go to Esmeralda’s house”, or “I go to the marketplace”))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Just to get this party started, Asëa goes to talk to Esmeralda! Ethan and I already are doing that over email. But seriously, guys, anything you want to do, indicate it. And anything that you want to show up in the story needs to either get to me somehow, or else you need to write it yourself.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((not sure what we want to do about lodging, Miithi would probably prefer to sleep outside (6’ 2” + wings = hard to sleep in a human bed) but I doubt Flinn and Boots share that sentiment. As for stuff to buy, how far away is the nearest town? Do we know? Or are we heading off for an unknown amount of time chasing after dice? Also, do magical weapons still need sharpening with a whetstone? (do we care enough for any weapon for that matter?)))

Interlude - Back To Town

((We’ve got a ton of whetstones, I wouldn’t worry about that. I presume you don’t want “0 miles” as the answer to nearest town, do ya? lol.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((nearest town in the direction Dice was heading then >.> It’d be nice to know if we should stock up on trail rations for as long as they won’t rot (aka unknown/really far distance) or if we only need X day’s worth before we can restock. Maybe we should just rent one room in the inn lol, miithi can go sleep in a tree somewhere, and asea, well she doesn’t sleep anyway :P))

Interlude - Back To Town

((She does trance, but she’d be more than happy to sit outside overnight and make sure no one tries to kill you :) ))

((Hey, can you take 10 on Survival rolls to get food? That would solve the animal conundrum (all animals would basically get food), and would mean that I just need to throw a couple more ranks at survival (which I am going to anyway for the synergy with K(N) to allow us to travel at half rate with no risk of starving. ))

Interlude - Back To Town

((dylan, how’s the map going? Posting that might help… For a non-graphical answer, you should be able to get to “the next village” within a day, day and a half maybe, as long as you stay within the county and travel along the main roads. While traveling along those roads, you could also probably find accommodations in random farmers’ houses (farmer’s?), if you aren’t total jerks. Mind you, this is the largest marketplace in the county, but you’ll still be able to obtain trail rations in pretty much any village anywhere in the entire world. With some unusual exceptions, of course.))

((as for taking 10… it depends. If it’s vitally important, then no, you can’t. If you absolutely need to get there within, say, 10 days or the king dies, and it’s important that you’re well-fed, that would count as “rushed” in my view. However, if you’re just strolling through the woods, enjoying a camping trip, then you could take 10. Another example: you could not have taken 10 going there, but you could have coming back.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Gah, I keep forgetting I need to deal with that map. Uh, lets see, I need to de-square the forest and we need a name for the marshes. So, someone gimme a name for the marshes, and I’ll finish it up maybe tonight? Note: these marshes are just the small marshes between the forest and the town(s), not the huge marshes on the world map.))

((also, I’d like to note that taking 10 is less likely to get us fed than not taking 10, since if we’re taking 10, its only Asëa taking 10. But if we aren’t taking 10 and she blows it, everyone else takes the checks, and they all have at worst a 50-50 shot of feeding themselves. a few more ranks in survival will change that, of course, but then again, a few more ranks in survival means that even if she rolls a 1 she’ll at least get food for one person!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((I hereby decree that the marsh is known to the mapmaker as the Hydra Marshes.))

((ah, but Dylan, what if everyone else took 10, as well?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((well then I guess we’ll shell out enough for 3 days worth of trail rations?(also do we have canteens?) I’m not sure how fast they spoil. If Asea needs arrows then shes gotta deal with that, and the only other thing I can think of is lodging, which is mostly up to Flinn))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Good god, people, there is a reason that I made the [[Treasure]] page that has every single item we have on it! Between us, we have 3 “canteens” (water skins), plus a spontaneous caster with Create Water, and I’ve got create water as well but I never get around to prepping it because Boots knows it! I would recommend one more waterskin so we at least have 1 each! I do have some gear to buy, but I plan on handling that via email with Ethan when I get to checking in on Elizabeth and Darryl. My plan is basically another quiver of arrows to be safe, and a Healer’s Kit and maybe a Artisans Tools or whatever to help her craft checks out so she can make her own arrows with even MORE insane simplicity. Depends if the party trusts her with >100 GP or not!))

((As for everyone else taking 10, true, that would be a lot of extraneous food. So much so, in fact, that Asëa would have to start lecturing on hunting more game then they can reasonably eat, since she found more than enough veggies for everyone!))

((Will work on map at some point, I just got a new iPhone (my mom is getting my “old” one), so I am working on getting it set up to my liking and that is taking precedence right now))

Interlude - Back To Town

((BAH LINK FAIL WHY? WHY NO EDIT POSTS WHY? WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY???!))

((anywho, the Treasure page. It has every single item we have on it. every single one))

Interlude - Back To Town

Aside from buy more trail rations and horse feed, I think Flinn would like to know about his armor. Also, he’d ask the local guards about mercenaries that came around two weeks ago. He’d also ask for sightings of dragons.

So, yeah, Flinn’s gonna be doing a lot of information gathering. Oh, and if he can pick up a book that has information on dragons, he’d get that too. I imagine the armor ID and dragon book thingy can come from Esmeralda. The other info can come from town guards and the local inn(s).

Interlude - Back To Town

((I’m not even gonna ask about those broken image links. I’m done questioning the lunacy of their substitutions.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Unless we can convince Esmerelda to start IDing our magic items, I think the other big purchase we have is a horse for Boots. I assume that there would be some for sale, but I shudder at the cost =x))

Interlude - Back To Town

((well, that at least gives me something to go on. Having individual roleplaying via email is probably the easiest way to give it to Dylan for the official write-up, so I’ll send you an email about that.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((actually at this point we can get Boots a light warhorse and pay off Flinn’s debts too lol))

Interlude - Back To Town

((To play nice, I have some little info on where Dice might be, from talking with Esmeralda. I hope you don’t mind me sharing it this way, Ethan, it just seems easier))

Esmeralda: “Actually, the red variety breathes fire, yes? Could he have headed east, do you think? Now that I think about it, the dwarven traders – I’m sure you’ve seen them hanging around town today – said that there was a hillside explosion while they were traveling here… I can’t be sure, not having witnessed it firsthand, but perhaps it’s your friend Dice? [cut] Yes, I’m sure any of the dwarves would be happy to give you directions. They said that they wouldn’t return until they were sure it’s safe, after all, so I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to know that someone is investigating.”

Interlude - Back To Town

((and yeah, warhorses don’t seem so expensive when we have 1200 gold on hand plus loot! Did I mention that Asëa wants Aether’s load lightened drastically? She’d go so far as politely suggesting selling both sets of ridiculously heavy and unused armor. Luckily, she would be loathe to touch them so would probably not go so far as to just throw them out randomly, but Aether complained to her about weight, so she wants that to be rectified!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((well, that’s pretty close to what the other players could find out on their own, anyway. However, just remember that you don’t start out knowing that info. This goes for Flinn especially, since he’s the most likely to notice and/or start chatting with the dwarves.

Interlude - Back To Town

((Yeah, I know, but Asëa is going to head straight back to tell everyone that news (the conversation they are having is what, 10 minutes tops?) so he would learn of it pretty quickly tonight.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((ethan word on our local wizard’s ability to ID magic items? Also should we look into buying a packhorse if we’re gonna grab Boots a warhorse anyway? Still no word on will, though I thought he was getting back around now))

Interlude - Back To Town

((lol, you could, y’know, ask her :). However, that being said, there’s a decent chance she is capable of at least casting Identify, though she might not have it prepped today. If you don’t want to shell out the 100+ GP per item, however, she might have random clues that she could help you with.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((ok well then it comes down to, does the party want to spend 100 gp on each item to be ID’d? I know Miithi would, especially since we have such a large amount of extra cash on us. We have the spear, armor, gloves, gem, anything else? Thats 500 gp with 150 gp for a horse, much more and we’re going to cut seriously into our funds. Then again we don’t really have much else to spend it on lol))

Interlude - Back To Town

((not much to spend it on? pff. Arcane caster :P. You forgot the gauntlets and the mug, btw.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Asëa has no particular reason to care for the pretty gold circles :) ))

Interlude - Back To Town

((let’s try that link again.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((At least someone remembers all the trouble I am going through to make up these pages :) ))

Interlude - Back To Town

((so we have 6-11 things? (falc + potions are questionable) I’d say spend it for the 6 things we want (unless flinn wants the falch) so thats 750 gp total. And ethan, you’re in wizard mode, picking spells to know that take costly mats is only for once you’re high enough level that you can buy them en mass if you’re a sorc! I’d say if we’re spending that much we shouldn’t splurge on a pack horse, but if anyone wants to upgrade their armor/weapons speak up now or hope ethan tosses into our next pile o’ swag!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Ethan needs to give me a timeline yet, so I will just use N minutes!))

((About N minutes after she leaves, Asëa comes hurrying back to the inn, and approaches either the rest of the party, if they are still together, or whoever she sees first if they are not. She sounds excited as she talks))

“I have just been talking to Esmeralda, the wizard, remember? I told her about Dice, and she thinks that maybe he headed east. The dwarves said a hill exploded, and they are not going to return until it is safe, but she thought maybe that could have been Dice, since he can breathe fire now. She also is curious to look at all of our magic items, she is inspecting the red crystal now. She wants to know if we want her to cast a spell to identify the items we found or not. I told her I would ask first, since I am not sure if we will stay here tomorrow or not. I would like to stay at least another day, but I also want to try and follow Dice. What do you think we should do? Oh, and she even had an idea bout how to destroy the cold iron sword, too!” ((sorry, puck is still pushing to have it destroyed, so she sides with him))

((she is in a hurry because she said she’d come right back, you can press her for more details of course))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Nick, I wasn’t referring to the costly mats that you might spend gold on. I was referring instead to the lack of costly armor and weapons that you’d otherwise be directing your income towards.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((I feel like having a little fun. So, if Asea’s in a hurry, she can get to the inn within, say, 5 minutes. That probably means 10 minutes to get to Esmeralda’s place, so… She comes back 20-30 minutes after she leaves?))

As Asea finishes talking, a rat slowly starts to emerge from her vest ((I still need to take another look at her clothing, but I think that works…)). “squeek. squeek squeek. squeeksqueeksqueek. SQUEEEEEEEK.” it says, seeming to direct the squeek at Asea, before dashing rapidly back into the vest. “squeeksqueeksqueek. squeek.”

((brief pause to let Asea respond, otherwise someone else can))

Interlude - Back To Town

((CURSE YOU SEPEAK WITH ANIMALS NOT LASTING THAT LONG! CURSE YOU!))

((Well, she’ll… uh…. try to soothe the rat as best she can, but…. there isn’t much else she can do other than to look around and see what freaked it out))

Interlude - Back To Town

((lol, yeah, sorry about that duration.))

((well, it could be the inn’s cat that freaked the rat out, especially since it’s (a) visible and (b) staring at you.))

The innkeeper shouts at Asea, somewhat harshly. “Oy! What’cha doin’ bringin’ that filthy vermin in ‘ere for? We got enough troubles wid those dwarves drinkin’ all the ale, and now what, you’re tryin’ t’ start a colony? Y’could at least toss it o’er to ol’ Blackie!” he says, gesturing towards the cat

((alright, I think conveying a variety of colorful accents would be easiest using the IPA. Anyone feel like learning?))

Interlude - Back To Town

“You do not need to worry about this rat, it will disappear soon enough, they always do. It is just scared, another cat tried to attack it jut a few minutes ago, you see. Do not worry, it is quite clean, and as I said, will disappear soon, so no harm done, yes?”

Interlude - Back To Town

“Oh, some sort of familiar, eh? Sorry, it’s been a busy night. Ya could’ve picked a more normal familiar, or brought ale with ya, or somethin’. Woulda made me job a li’l easier. turns to the cat Down, Blackie! We don’t want t’ eat the guests now, ya hear?”

Interlude - Back To Town

((bad asterisks!))

“No, it is not a familiar, but… ((glances at Eruanna)), well, thank you for understanding, anyway. I am sorry that I do not have any ale… ((turns to party)) So, what should I tell Esmeralda?”

Interlude - Back To Town

“Hmm… a cone of fire could easily be mistaken for an explosion, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that was indeed Dice. As for our magic items, I feel it would be well worth the money to have them identified, especially since friendly wizards are not so easily come by.”

((I’ll have to poke will so he can make boots bring up getting a horse/new armor possibly))

Interlude - Back To Town

“I will go and tell her now. Would you like to come with me, she may be able to tell us something even without casting the spell.”

((waits for a response, then leaves, with Miithi or anyone else who wants to come))

Interlude - Back To Town

((We now have a map. With this map, we can now refer to towns by name rather than compass direction! It’s amazing!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((oooh pretty, names are somewhat hard to read though. Btw is that origonal map me and lowell drew up still floating around somewhere? Might be nice to have a ‘world map’ unless that’d be more than we should know.))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Yeah, the image looked better when I made it. I drew it almost 3000 pixels wide, thinking “heh heh, I’ll upload a 5 meg map :)”... then I saw the 500 KB limit… and the restriction that it is square…. so, I made it as large as I could (1600 px wide), and then they re-jpeg’d my jpeg, which killed the text.))

((later today, I’ll make some different sizes and host them on my webserver and deeplink them from the Tinsville County page))

((as for the world map, I can draw that as soon as Ethan is happy with one… plus, we can only post one map here, I’d have to host all others on my servers. not a problem, we just don’t get the anachronistic awesome google-map interface))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Anyway, it would be good to know if Miithi or anyone follows Asëa back to Esmeralda’s, so that we can continue it))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Lowell, you also need to get back to me about roleplaying, if you want any of that to show up in the story. We could schedule a live session, if that’s easier for you…))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Miithi will go to Esmeralda’s but i’m waiting for lowell to realize that this has been updated and for will to listen to me to check lol, speaking of i should really remind him more))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Awesome. Also, I just realized that Identify has a 1 hour casting time. “Hi, Esmeralda? We need you to…. work all day for us? Here, have a sack-o-gold!”))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Okay, so Nick suggests that at this point we try and set up a next live meeting. What time is good for you guys? I should note that if we do it next week, I NEED dinner at some point during 5-7 PM thanks to the UCSC dining halls not being open all day. We could try for an after dinner session (such as SEVEN P. M.!!!) on Tuesday, if that works for people.))

((Also, Dylan, should we start the post-Esmeralda stuff now?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Why have you failed me so, RSS, WHY? It is set to check every 15 minutes. It took an hour+. WTF?))

((Anywho, I’m good probably any time, but wed, thur, fri, or sat would be much better for me this week. I will not know about mon or tue until like 10 minutes before we start, and even then I cannot guarantee that my mom won’t call me out for several hours randomly. Long story. That said, if we have a concrete, “everyone will be ready at 7 PM no exceptions, no waiting, no excuses” then I can probably convince my mom to leave me alone for a few hours.))

((As for post-Esmeralda, I am ready, but if Miithi tags along to go back that night, then that needs Nick’s input as well. But I am certainly ready to play ahead and see what Darryl is up to “tomorrow” while we are waiting for Esmeralda to Identify everything but the kitchen sink))

Interlude - Back To Town

So, anyway, my mom promised not to bug me tomorrow, so I will be free from 7PM on tomorrow night. Game time?

Also, I will be on vacation for about a month starting next tuesday. the first and last week of that I will be in new york with good internet connection. I will gladly stay up into the wee hours of the night to correct for time-zone-fail if we want games then.

The middle two weeks, roughly, I will be in a cottage in the middle of Ontario Canada (also Eastern time zone) that has no running water, electricity that was wired in 1905 (YARLY!), and no internet for about a thousand miles or so it seems. I will have my iphone, however, so can still get on the cell network for extremely limited email use. (I.e. it is slow as hell AND they charge an arm and a leg per bit of data). So, if you absolutely need me, email or better yet TEXT me (which is standard rate and not data carrier fees) and I will respond sometime within a day, but for the most part I will be incommunicado. And so help me, if someone sends me an email with an attachment, you are paying my bill!

Interlude - Back To Town

Yeah, trying to get another live session in would be good. Seriously, guys, just say something, and we’re good to go.

Oh, btw, depending on how stupid clever Asea is, you guys might wind up with some extra XP. Just figured I’d let you know.

Interlude - Back To Town

Yeah, it should be fun when the like entire extra chapter goes up in the story and everyone is all “who what when?”

Interlude - Back To Town

Hey, my offer to engage in email-based roleplay sessions with any player still stands… We’ll just assume that everyone else was doing other interesting stuff.

Interlude - Back To Town

Also, just so the party knows: I am commandeering 75 GP, to purchase stuff. I’ll probably only be spending 55 or 60 of it and the rest will be returned, but just FYI.

Interlude - Back To Town

((I have class from 6-10 on wed =( How does sunday (evenings?) work for everyone? I know lowell has church until ~12 (unless his parents kidnap him…) but what about you two?))

Interlude - Back To Town

What about tonight? I am free tonight, Ethan suggested tonight….

Interlude - Back To Town

((Sundays can work, methinks. What time? This week Thursday night would probably work, as well.))

((and yeah, what about tonight? Is tonight good?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Sundays are good for me any time (except for when I am in the boondocks!), but I would like to try tonight. Thursday would work for me, too (again, any time).))

Interlude - Back To Town

((so, I’m thinking we could get the next session off to a quicker start if we ID items on OP. Only problem is, I don’t know what you guys want to do for that. Do you want any mundane examinations? What do you want Identify cast on? <insert>?))

((oh, and Lowell, you still need to tell me if you’re still going to gather intel during downtime. Do you want a quick individual session for that?))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Esmeralda has provided some mundane explanation about the red gem already, but I vote it gets a full magical ID. Other than that, Asëa doesn’t have anything she particularly feels must be identified (although she might want to see if Esmeralda can tell what the one white arrow is at a glance i.e. mundanely), so she’d tag along to at least say hi to Esmeralda “tomorrow”, but after that, she departs to pursue other goals…))

Interlude - Back To Town

Esmeralda: “Hmm… I really don’t know what this is, sorry. It just seems so plain, I can’t figure out what it would be for.”

Interlude - Back To Town

((Also, can we nail down a time for sunday, assuming it works for everyone? I’m good any time, but I need to know the time!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((Also, I have a question for people: How would we feel about making Swii, Eruanna, and Aether (and/or any other mounts that show up and are used) into official Player Characters in this campaign so that they show up in the party roster up at the top there? (I would organize the party members so that Swii shows up under Miithi, Eruanna under Asëa, and Aether under Flinn, of course, using my mysterious jedi mind powers (or just removing all the PCs and re-adding them in the proper order)) ))

((good god, parenthesis fail!))

Interlude - Back To Town

((I’ll take the resounding and unanimous silence to mean go ahead and try. So, I did. It refuses to let me determine the order – I removed all the PCs, then added them back in the order Miithi, Swii, Boots, Flinn, Aether, Asëa, Eruanna (and I reloaded the page after each character to make sure that the change in character state “stuck”), and for some reason it kept the original order of our first characters (Miithi, Boots, Flinn, Asëa), and then added our second characters in a totally random order (Eruanna, Aether, Swii). If I knew how it determined what order to do, I’d try to hack the system, but this just seems so blatantly “No, you get ZERO control!” that I’m not even going to bother. If the new additions prove bothersome, they are easy to remove, but I like being able to get to them in one click from the main page myself))

Interlude - Back To Town

Well, just so that we have some idea, here are the 5 items (5 hours and 500 GP) I would suggest getting IDd. Asëa doesn’t have a say in it, this is just what I think should be done:

  • The magic gloves
  • The gauntlets
  • The armor
  • The spear
  • The crystal

If we also get Esmeralda to spend 4 minutes on spellcraft checks we might get a potion or two out of her as well, she is at least level 6.

Interlude - Back To Town

strike that, at least level 5

Interlude - Back To Town

((Important: are we playing tomorrow? It was suggested at one point, but I haven’t heard back about that yet. Also, if so, what time?))

Interlude - Back To Town

I really, really want to, because I am leaving tuesday morning. While I will have internet access for 5 more days, I will be on east coast time, so that may cause issues (but I will play if we set times up in advance and they are doable). And after that, I’ll be away from civilization for 10 days…. So, I would really like to play tomorrow.

Interlude - Back To Town

Lowell is out of town until monday i think :/

Interlude - Back To Town

sigh. we are cursed.

Interlude - Back To Town

Hmm, Monday/Tuesday night?

Interlude - Back To Town

I am pretty sure I can try monday. I’ll pack in the morning, so I am willing to try. Tuesday night, I won’t be available until 9PM east coast time, so unless you all want to start at midnight, that isn’t going to work…. If we want to play between Wed, Thur, or Fri, I can only do so if I know at least a full day in advance and have very solid times, and even then I cannot guarantee that my family will let me, but I’ll try.

If there are just random battles, someone can play Asëa and Eruanna for me (but Ethan, do me a favor and make sure no one assaults her personality too much, and I’d appreciate it if I don’t come back to “massive crit, you died”) but I’d like to be there if there is anything plot-related (I would need message logs for the story and at least occasional screenshots or one initial screen and good movement description saved to the log). Hopefully, I will get some reception and I’ll be able to be on email while in canada, so I’d be willing to try a play-by-email. it works pretty well for lots and lots of dialogue, so it should work for a random encounter :)

Interlude - Back To Town

Uh… Wouldn’t 9 PM east cost time be 6 PM our time?

Also, does “dungeon crawl” count as “random encounters”?

Interlude - Back To Town

.... you’re right, I always do that backwards. So, I’ll probably be in around 8:30 or 9 eastern time, so that is 5:30 or 6…. So, if that time can work for other people, lemme know BEFORE tuesday, and I’ll email Ethan when I am ready to play.

as for “dungeon crawl” it depends. Basically, I’d rather not miss anything important. The rats or the spiders in the cave were unimportant, I could live missing those. I would not have wanted to miss the Gnoll fight because it was a “end of quest” style “boss fight”, and also because I don’t trust anyone else to handle Asëa when actually talking to someone who may or may not be an important character (which we cannot know when they are met). Anyone can play a character who will only fight in defense, that is not difficult, but actual interaction with people is something that might be tricky (that said, Ethan, you have a pretty good feel for her by now (oh god that doesn’t sound right) and so you could probably do well enough if you wanted)

Interlude - Back To Town

I likely wouldn’t be ready on Tuesday until around 7 PM PDT anyway, so that would work if the others are up for it.

Yeah, naturally I’d make sure to wait until you’re back if there are any encounters that would normally involve cutscenes or dialogue in a video game. Of course, Asea kinda makes it so that a pack of giant rats involves a little bit of dialogue, but that’s different (sorta).

Interlude - Back To Town

Stuff with the party is fairly trivial. Push comes to shove, you could probably do a good approximation. Her basic MO is “don’t fight until there is clearly a threat, such as when someone in the party has taken damage or at least been attacked. Then, fight as hard as is necessary to disable the enemy expediently, then stop fighting and keep the survivors from dying”.

Interlude - Back To Town

Hey, Nick/Lowell/Will: can someone confirm or deny the feasibility of playing tonight? I don’t want to wait around for a game that never starts, but I also don’t want to be the one who doesn’t show up.

I’ll be available starting around 7 PM PDT (or maybe 7:30), so if you can tell me before then, that’d be great.

Interlude - Back To Town

I sent this via email but me and lowell are good ~7. Still waiting on will’s reply

Interlude - Back To Town

Ok, I am ready and should be able to play, assuming the internet works well enough here. Lets see, it’s…... 6:30 there now? Yeah, Ethan or Nick, email me when people are ready. I may be eating or something but I’ll be there soon.

Interlude - Back To Town

Alright, server’s up, port 51234.

Interlude - Back To Town

is there a new patch or something? I’m having connecting problems ...i think

Interlude - Back To Town

hmm, darn, I was worrying about that… I’m using version 1.3.b56. You?

Interlude - Back To Town

Also, can you see any of our messages, and/or send messages? It DOES say that you’re connected, but I haven’t seen any messages from you yet…

Interlude - Back To Town

nope, it starts up, says you’ve both connected and then essentially freezes

Interlude - Back To Town

1.3.b56 yea

Interlude - Back To Town

Okay, dylan says you should disconnect, wait 15 seconds, and reconnect.

Interlude - Back To Town

He wants to try a test.

Interlude - Back To Town

been trying >.>

Interlude - Back To Town

He wants you to connect when he’s not connected, and see if that improves anything. Hey, you’re using port 51234, right?

Interlude - Back To Town

Try a direct connection to 67.170.196.36 and see if that’s any better.

Interlude - Back To Town

yea

Interlude - Back To Town

aaaaaaaaaand now its frozen again…

Interlude - Back To Town

well this isn’t working. And I still haven’t heard anything from will… sigh guess the DnD hiatus continues

Interlude - Back To Town

I’m gonna restart the server, see if that helps.

Interlude - Back To Town

k, back up

Interlude - Back To Town

Hey, do you know what map you’re loading?

Interlude - Back To Town

No, you cannot give up! We will make it work!

Interlude - Back To Town

Well, I guess we did give up. I may still be accessible here for a few days, I just need advance warning.

Interlude - Back To Town

Hey, I just remembered that this Thursday I’m actually free. Does that work for people?

Interlude - Back To Town

It should work for me. If we can set up a time soon, I can make sure to be free.

I really really want to play, so I hope that can work.

Interlude - Back To Town

I’d be free sometime after 7

...time to start bugging lowell and will again

Interlude - Back To Town

Yay! I hop they can. ((Elan-mode)) bug-bug-bug the players!

Interlude - Back To Town

Will is free tomorrow after 7 like me, though hes not sure how much longer hes gonna keep playing if things don’t get “more interesting”.

Lowell was not sure, i’ll poke him again and twist his arm

Interlude - Back To Town

Sigh. Well, I’m sure we can make it interesting somehow. What does he want? More dragons? We are already over-quota for our level :)

Interlude - Back To Town

Also, if he does bail, I’d suggest we recruit more players. I’ve invested quite a lot in Asëa, emotionally (and temporally!) speaking (we all know I obsess on things), so I do not want to see her just “die” for lack of a better word if this campaign just fizzles. Nick, you mentioned having some friends who maybe might want to play, I have a friend who might want to join, etc. Just my two cents, though I hope we can spice things up instead.

Interlude - Back To Town

Yeah, and I might have a friend of a friend who’d like to get in. However… what does Will think would be interesting? I mean, so far you’ve had character development, and random killing. Any specific changes he’d like to see?

Oh, btw, this probably goes with saying… I don’t think we can run super-late tomorrow night. Two of us have work in the morning, Dylan is 3 hours ahead, and I have no idea if Will/Lowell have anything in the morning.

Interlude - Back To Town

Don’t worry about my time-zone, right now leaving the campaign in a state where someone else theoretically could play Asëa for a week or two is my priority. Right now, it really isn’t feasible for assorted reasons that will become clear or at least hinted at, unless Ethan played her, and then her tendency for messing with the party might seem just a tad unfairly used (for example, what would you have thought if Ethan had been controlling Asëa when Eruanna attacked Miithi?). So, yeah, I don’t need sleep. Sleep is for the weak!

That and I’m still not adjusted and probably won’t be til at least saturday anyway :)

Interlude - Back To Town

True, but if you guys really take that long to get to the massive zombie hordes a decent place for someone to take over, I’ll have other reasons to glare at you :). On a related note, please don’t waste an hour trying to purchase a tombstone for Dice for no apparent reason. Again.

Interlude - Back To Town

I am starting to think that should go back into the story for full disclosure. Do we want a part that is just as being idiots?

Interlude - Back To Town

I dunno. It would possibly give me a reason to have a random stonemason angry at you, which might be interesting.

Interlude - Back To Town

If I get bored, I’ll type it up. It can be like a “blooper reel” part :)

Interlude - Back To Town

Will feels its too much of “dylan and ethan doing stuff, while we just sit there” as he put it over the phone.

Not sure if thats really a “fix-able” problem. If wlll does drop I could foresee doing a ~3 man party so as long as we have 3+ people I’m game.

Interlude - Back To Town

Also, just to point out. You can keep asea for another campaign even if this one does go poof. We’ll always need healers ;P

Interlude - Back To Town

True. But this was a strange beginning. The whole rezzing Dice thing was unplanned, and ethan and I had to work to make both our ideas fit together coherently. And that involved Elven as the new Common. It was unavoidable since the entire backstory I had made for Asëa was under the assumption that we would never, ever go there! (and actually, Comprehend Language wouldn’t have helped as it requires physical contact!)

Also, Ethan has offered other sessions in downtime. Like in town. The party basically split up once we hit town, so if anyone wanted to do stuff, we had the opportunity.

Don’t worry, though, Asëa is going to settle back into more of a support role “now” (meaning once we leave Tinsville). She was sorta pushed into taking the lead when we needed to go talk to her village of rabid killers. Now that is out of the way, she’ll settle back a bit and let someone else lead (Flinn, probably, since we are chasing Dice now?). She’d much rather observe and explore and heal than try to figure out how to convince someone who would rather see her dead to revive a person who is a disgrace to the elven race (in their minds)!

Interlude - Back To Town

Seems like we’re on for 7 pm tomorrow

Interlude - Back To Town

By which you mean “today”, right?

Interlude - Back To Town

...Never mind, I just remembered that they’re using UTC. Yes, at the time you posted that, “tomorrow” can mean “Thursday”.

Interlude - Back To Town

I hate that they use UTC. That said, I am just itching to make some change so I can put a eastern time in our changelog!

Interlude - Back To Town

By that I meant “an hour from now”

Interlude - Back To Town

Yeah. Cursed timezones.

Nick, email me or ethan if it keeps dying again, I can get email faster than I can get messages on OP even with my obsessive reload rate! Actually, if you are free, we almost ought to try and troubleshoot that now? I might be able to start a server for testing purposes. Wanna try?

Interlude - Back To Town

Okay, server is UP.

Interlude - Back To Town

Do we have to do the direct connect + port 22 hack? timing out on me

Interlude - Back To Town

Nah, I just forgot to switch to LAN instead of wireless.

Interlude - Back To Town
